Effective Business Learning from Ants and Leaf Lice

Red Ants and Fleas leaf
Types of ants and certain aphids have a symbiotic relationship. In symbiosis, different animal species help each other. Aphids are small insects that move slowly, living on herbs, and eat the nectar. Nectar is sucked from the tree trunk with his mouth a sharp and long.

When ingested, the material turned into sweet nectar known as honey dew. This material is then removed by ticks through organs called kornikula. This honey dew favorite food of red ants, which can eat as much as can be produced by the aphids. By raising livestock aphids, ants have a food reserve that is always ready.

To protect the reserve honey dew, ant very concerned about his aphids. For example, aphids that the ants move into places that contain lots of nectar and search the area if it becomes too dense food, an ant infestation that will move into the more liberal areas. Ants also attack any insects that try to eat the aphids that even though the attacker may be much larger than the ant itself. Scientists have not obtained a certainty when or how this special relationship began, but with the discovery of ants and aphids which have become fossilized together, it is evident that these two types of insects have been helping each other at least since 30 million years ago.

The story of ants and aphids, according to Stephen R. Covey called the effectiveness of which is thebalance between production and production capability . Production is the desired result, namely honey dew, while the production capability is the ability or asset that produces honey dew, namely aphids. Ant seeks to maintain and keep aphids as well as possible for the aphids still produce honey dew. Ants perform effective action.
Stephen R. Covey

In business, we often seek short-term profits or result in damage to production capacity or physical assets, such as cars, computers, telephone, fax and even our bodies or our environment. We rarely maintain or care for cars, computers, telephones, and fax. Once the asset is damaged, then we realized that the key asset is an asset. The cost to repair these assets is much more expensive than maintaining these assets on a regular basis, so we have to do things that are not effective.

We also often talk about customer service. We often ignore the people who deal with customers, ie employees, so we just realized after customers gradually left us. Trust and loyalty to our customers is lost. Usually, we just blame employee. That action is not effective. If we want our employees to treat customers well, so must we treat our employees like customers. "You can buy someone's hand, but never to buy his heart. Heart on is the place where the enthusiasm and loyalty are. You can buy his back, but can not buy brains. That's where the creativity, intelligence, and minds, "said Stephen R. Covey. To act effectively, it turns out we have to learn on the ants and aphids.
